I have been running my new slash 4X4 for about 2 months now. At first I starting out basically bashing, and throwing in 3S Lipo batteries and racing the night away.  After I found the local track and got into racing I realized pretty quickly that I needed a lot of new upgrades.

The slash is an amazing truck right out of the box and I am so happy I bought it but after trying to compete with even the most novice racers at the track I realized I had to step my game up.  I had purchased the RTR model so I didn’t have any of the upgraded aluminum parts, not that those really help you out at the track but I wanted you to know where I was starting out.  Below are all the upgrades I did and the ratings of impact they had on my race experience. If you are rocking jumps with your RC car or truck you have surely started tweaking the shock positioning of your vehicle.  If you are new to RC shocks, or shocks in general as I was you are going to want to know a few basic things about tuning them.  If you take a close look at where the shocks connect to your vehicle you will notice there are several positions across the top and bottom to adjust.  (not all vehicles are the same)  If you cannot adjust the top, well then I guess you’re doing the best you can with the bottom.  A few basic principals to get you started. So I am learning more and more each day when it comes to the RC hobby in general, more specifically the competitive side of things.  I have recently been spending a lot of time at my local dirt track, racing short course truck modified circuit.  I have been spending a lot of time trying to get better.  One thing I noticed early on is after a few minutes, maybe 10-15 or so of racing my slash would turn off, well slow down and the red indicator light was flashing.
