CML & Team Associated Dominate Schumacher Winter Open

The Schumacher Winter BTCC Open was held last weekend at the awesome Moto Arena Silverstone, the world’s premier RC Racing and Virtual Racing destination. The event attracted a good number of quality drivers and top UK national drivers; however, CML and Team Associated drivers Olly Jeffries and Chris Slater dominated the competition.

Slater and Zak Smith competed with a strong presence for the on-road team in the Pro Stock 10.5 class. Competing for Associated in the super touring class were Olly Jefferies and Pro Stock convert Steve Lander. Both the major classes were dominated by Associated with Chris Slater taking FTD in Pro Stock and Olly taking the top spot in Super Touring ahead of Chris Grainger of Schumacher. Grainger and Jeffries have raced in close battles all season, with Grainger winning the BRCA National Modified Championship earlier in the season. Olly was expecting a little bit more pressure from Grainger rather than the pressure of Colin Price, another Schumacher driver.

Both Olly and Chris had a much easier second leg of the race with Olly was racing with the new TC6, while his other teammates stuck with the TC5, proving it still gets the job done.

Ben Putt, the Associated Junior Academy driver made a great start for his new team. Putt won the 10.5 Pro Stock B final taking both legs from third on the grid. Another Academy driver, Kyle Gardner took the 10.5 Pro Stock C final.

As you can see, Team Associated took charge and competed hard at the The Schumacher Winter BTCC Open.
