Wheels For the HPI Baja

Posted on Wednesday, January 5th, 2011 | in News | No Comments

Remember when I told you about the new HPI Baja 5SC? Well, if you don’t, go back and read it because now I have some wheels to show you for the truck. I’m just kidding – you don’t have to read it to know what I’m talking about but here’s whats up with the wheels they have for this sweet truck:

The HPI TR-10 Black Wheels are designed especially for the Baja and reflect the style used in full-size short course racing. Not only do these 10-hole beadlock wheels look awesome, they also grip the tires in place securely and hold it in place in all sorts of crazy racing conditions. They are able to fit the front and rear wheels of the Baja 5SC and Baja 5T with varying offsets and widths.

Confirming McBride to Durango

Posted on Wednesday, January 5th, 2011 | in News | No Comments

Yesterday I told ya I was almost positive Kyle McBride would be joining Team Durango and it has now been confirmed the he will indeed be signing with them! So now you know you can trust me :) . Did I mention this kid is only 14! I can’t even remember what I was doing when I was 14 but it wasn’t anything that cool.

Kyle’s proud father Scott seems just as excited about the new car for his son, saying “We hit the track for the first time last Saturday with the new Team Durango DNX 408, and all I can say is WOW! Out-of-the box this car is the best car Kyle has ever driven. We put the Durango through its paces over the course of a 4 hour test session, and the car was faultless. I made two minor changes, ‘that’s it’ over a 4 hour test session – unbelievable. There were a lot of jaws dropping once they realized who was driving this insanely quick DNX408. Kyle was totally over the moon with his new car and can’t wait for the season to start.”

Team Associated Begins 2011 With a Bang

Posted on Tuesday, January 4th, 2011 | in News | No Comments

Well the new year started out well for Ryan Cavalieri of Team Associated. Ryan joined 230+ of his fellow racers for the first round of the TLR Supercross Series at West Coast R/C Raceway on Sunday January 2. Cavalieri took the victory in both 2WD and 4WD Modified ahead of Mike Truhe. Team Associated proved themselves again with Brent Thielke, Chris Jarosz and Steven Hartson joining Cavalieri in the mains. All the drivers used the winning combination of the Factory Team B4.1 and Factory Team B44.1 along with the LRP SXX V2 speed controls, while Thielke, Hartson and Jarosz all utilized Reedy batteries.

What a great way to start out 2011 for these guys. Keep your eye out for more Team Associated races near you in January with major events in January in Columbus, OH (Winter Midwest Championship) and La Mirada, CA (Reedy Race of Champions). It’s going to be an exciting year!

Team Durango has picked up a couple great drivers to join their team. First up (and this has not been officially confirmed), young

McBride

Australian wonder kid Kyle McBride looks to have made the move to Durango. If confirmed, which looks likely, he will be the 3rd major offroad driver driver to leave Mugen over the winter and will join the Durango international team.

Next up is multiple European Champion and Worlds finalist, Renaud Savoya, who will be joining their international race team for the 2011 season. Reno is regarded as one of the most gifted and friendly drivers in RC today. Here is what he had to say:

Savoya

“Like I said a few days ago, The Shark is ready to bite! Starting January 2011, I will race under the Team Durango flag! Everybody at Team Durango has shown me incredible motivation and professionalism. Thanks to the technical team and the drivers; we will focus on producing the best cars on the market. Everyone at Team Durango is ‘Serious About Racing’. I’m really excited with this move and I look forward to race Team Durango for the near future, and of course, win! I will race 1/8 buggy (nitro and electric), 1/8 truggy, 1/10 electric, and the very impressive US style SC. The Team looks impressive and I’m proud to be part of it.”
