Hey guys. I have another exciting RC event update for you. The Pre Worlds were held this past weekend at Homestead RC Raceway in Miami, Florida. This race is held in preparation for next April’s IFMAR 1/8th scale on road World Championships. The top qualifier from the past 2 gas on road World Championships Robert Pietsch once again took the  top spot with his self designed Mugen MRX-5. He was ahead of team mates Mike Swauger and Keisuke Fukuda, with Serpent driver Paolo Morganti rounding out the top 4. Read on »»

Here’s a new tire that has been developed by RC Disco in the UK. The dBoots tire range has been developed at RC Disco over the last 6 months and the first tire, the Terrabyte, is now available. It is produced for 2wd & 4wd 1/10th off road, and more designs are expected to be available in the coming months for 1/10th scale, Short Course and 8th scale. I’ll try to keep you updated on those as well.  Already the control tire for the Ardent Raceway off road winter series, it has proven itself to work well and is already finding strong support in Multi-Surface conditions, Astroturf and Grass Tracks across the country.

The dBoots engineers work with experienced RC drivers to develop their tires, making sure they are tested and developed for the best performance possible. It has successfully proved itself by setting TQ and the Win the first time out in the hands of Nathan Waters (TQ) and Adam Skelding (Win) – impressive.

In what some say could have been called “the Race of Champions”, round 3 of the Taplow R/C Car club’s winter championship was to be the first public race meeting of the TLR22 outside of the USA.

Some of the most respected racers in the UK came together for this event; for what proved to be an classic meeting and perfect debut for the Team Losi Racing 22. Drivers included the current double European champion Lee Martin and the current BRCA 1:10 and 1:8 national champions Tom Cockerill and Darren Bloomfield. All 3 UK TLR 22 cars qualified into the top 10 in 2WD but with 8 car finals, it was  Team Losi’s Andy Carter that had to settle for the B-final.

It was then the TLR22 of Darren Bloomfield who lined up 2nd on the grid alongside current EFRA European Champion Lee Martin with Tom Cockerill and David Poulter locking out the 2nd row of the grid with their Schumacher Cougars and ahead of the 2nd TLR22 of Simon Reeves in 5th and the XXX-CR of Special Agent Richard Barton in 6th place on the 3rd row of the grid. After some incredible driving from Martin and Bloomfield. An unfortunate error allowed Bloomfield to take the lead, allowing him to end up nearly 7 seconds clear of Tom Cockerill in 2nd and Lee in 3rd.

I think we can all agree that the Losi 22 paired with some great drivers is a dangerous mix for anyone else on the track!
