3 Tips For Bashing

For those of us that really enjoy going out on long bashing sessions there can be some important steps ahead of time that will make your day go more smoothly.  For those of us that have to drive a little way for a good bashing session these steps are even more important.  A 5 hour bashing session this weekend after a one hour drive helped bring a lot of these things into light and so I decided to share them with you.

Charge you Batteries:

The night before a good bash make sure and charge up all your batteries ahead of time.  There is nothing worse than having to stand around for an hour while your battery pack charges.  In addition to the battery packs make sure you have fresh batteries in your remote.

Forgetting remote batteries can be one of the most annoying mistakes you can make.  If you happen to run a Nitro, make sure you have fresh charged batteries inside for your steering servo.  When you race RC, batteries are a necessary evil, even if you happen to race nitro.  If you are bringing a camcorder to record some of the action you should make sure you charge up your batteries for that as well.

As a side note, if you happen to have access to power at the area where you are bashing bringing an extension cable or your personal charger wouldn’t be a bad idea either.

Bring Your Tools:

If you go all out like I do when I bash there isn’t many sessions  that my trucks survive without damage.  It is important that you bring along all your hex drivers, screw drivers, spare parts, and whatever you need to fix small breaks.   The other thing you are going to want to bring if you are lucky enough to have power is your soldering iron just in case.  I used the soldering iron 3 different times on Saturday and the day would have been over without it.

If you decide you would rather risk it or you want to travel light just make sure you check over all your connections the night before and take a good long look over some of the major breakables for small existing cracks that you might want to repair ahead of time.

Pack A Lunch:

lol.  It is sort of a joke but its sort of true.  If you are bashing away from home make sure you bring some snacks.  Chips, sandwiches, sodas, and water are great idea to bring a long.

Those are three things that we always try to prepare for when it comes to spending a Saturday out bashing.  Other than that, bringing friends along can be a lot of fun as well.  We try to take regular breaks to check up on the cars, decompress, and look for new terrain to bash on, that is always fun.  Working in some fun games goes a long way like tag and drag races also keeps things pretty interesting.  So get out there and fan some serious bashing fun.

I have to add, dont let your 6year old carry your transmitter for you. The switch will be on and your batteries will be dead.

I like to see if any screws are loose before a bash, and tighten if needed. If you don’t do this, you may lose or break more parts.
