Traxxas Stampede 4X4 VXL In December

WOW! That is really the only way I could start this post.  After randomly popping over to the Traxxas homepage and POW there it was, right on the homepage, coming in December the new Traxxas Stampede 4X4.  Out of the box this thing will hit top speeds of 35 miles per hour, throw in a 3S lipo and this beast is going to rip at over 60!  Built on the existing 4 wheel drive shaft system in the current Slash, the stampede adds an all new chassis that brings you the high center ground clearance you crave.

Some of the other upgrades include:

  • New chassis designed specifically for Stampede 4X4
  • Dual-bellcrank steering with integrated servo saver
  • Unique Shock Guards protect the suspension arms and shocks
  • New Heavy-Duty driveshafts
  • Velineon Brushless Power System
  • 4-Position Wheelie Bar
  • Revo-spec sealed, silicone-filled differentials
  • TQ 2.4GHz Transmitter and Receiver with Traxxas Link™
  • Waterproof Electronics
  • Digital high-torque steering waterproof servo
  • Rubber-sealed Ball Bearings

So What Do I Think:

While this thing looks awesome as a first 4X4 I already have a slash 4 wheel drive.  The similarities are striking in fact.  There are a lot of Stampede specific upgrades and this thing just looks awesome in its running videos it isn’t something I want to run out and get it.  The reason is I already have a T-Maxx, and a Slash, so I already have a monster truck and a 4 wheel drive short course vehicle.  That said if you don’t already have a 4 wheel drive vehicle and love bashing this thing looks totally awesome.

Should You Buy The New Stampede 4X4 VXL:

It seems pretty clear at a $400 price tag this thing will be on a lot of peoples Christmas lists.  If you watch the footage on the Traxxas website this thing looks to be a bashers dream.  It shows the new Stampede with all that brushless power totally ripping up almost any surface they threw at it.  Add to that the system is water proof and that makes this thing a must have for bashers looking to upgrade and those looking to get into the game for the first time.  Traxxas parts are very easy to find, their parts are super strong, and the Velineon system has all the power you need to push it to the max!
