Came into an issue today with the caster front, stock drive shaft popping out. The cause of this was when under heavy braking on grass, the nose would dive down enough to make the angle of the dogbone tight enough for it to pop out.

This did happen twice before I did something about it.

I figured the reason was because the shocks were travelling too far at the front. So I took apart the two front shocks, and added a bit of old fuel tubing from my nitro's to act as a stopper. (around 10mm long, with old fuel tube, as it usually looses its elasticity over time & stiffer the better)

I did this to both shocks, and have used the buggy for atleast an hour after doing that slight mod, and they seem to be holding up!

However I have got some new hardened diff outdrives for the centre and front diffs on order with Russ @ FWM, as the centre were a bit chipped too.

Stocking up on mugen arms for a visit to the nene in a couple of weeks, though hopefully I won't need them as they're does usually tend to be huge rocks around the track

I have also ordered some mugen mbx6 wing stay mounts because I snapped one of those and having ali ones will be better because I usually use them to hold the buggy when walking somewhere.

Also some ali wing washers to replace the plastic (not broken, just prefer ali ones)

Some more velcro for the battery straps, and another set of EC5's for the new battery I will order very soon.

Check back in a few days for some more info.

Video below of todays little run around with the caster: (update soon)

Since the last update on the buggy, I have acquired some ali wing stay mounts from the mugen mbx6 which fit a treat, and some ali wing washers to beef up the wing area a bit.

I have also fitted the hardened & lightened alloy diff outdrives center and rear, and also have some new front ones on order.

I will eventually be buying some CVD's for center to front and rear diffs, and also CVD's for the rear diff to wheels. Not a necessity but It will save some time when re-assembling the diffs into the buggy.

I have had a few problems with the buggy with gears crunching and what not. To cut a long story short, I have had each and every diff apart countless amounts of times to figure out the problem, but it turns out I had shimmed the front diff incorrectly which caused the bevel pinion gear to get eaten up.

So I have one of those on order, along with some more diff shims.

I will hopefully make it to nene valley soon, though who knows!

    Thanks

have you thought of running that tekin sensored?
when i tried sensored i was amazed at the difference in throttle control
good chance that the MMP would push that tekin motor if the rx8 is out of price range

It would be great if I had the spare cash for an RX8
I will see, I may be able to get a 2nd hand one cheap

    Order updates.

I have purchased a small handful of things for the buggy...

    2.5mm carbon chassis upper deck
    Orion 3800 30c 2s hardcase LiPo's (x2 second hand)
    HobbyKing 5300 30-60c hardcase LiPo's (x2 brand new)
Front diff bevelled Pinion gear shaft
    Diff Shims
    Front diff hardened outdrives
    12awg CORE-RC Silicone wire

I will soon also be getting a new motor mount, called the Elite RC Motor mount for the MBX6, as I am assured by the guy that makes these, that the MBX6 one will fit the caster buggy perfectly.

Thanks for checking the updates out...

    Sheered bevelled diff pinion

When Soft aluminium meets my trigger finger...

Just for reference, I do have a new pit mat, a first infact. Though it's not designed to be a pit mat. It's a large cutting board which I picked up for 7 at my workplace. self healing top coat, wipes down nicely and makes it allot easier to find fallen screws.

    More products coming soon

Hey, Nor had I until I was recommended one by my LHS, they have caster parts a day or two away, they run mostly casters and mugens at the track so it seemed like the best bet! It sure turned out good, The buggy handles great, all the weight up front with that motor, and when using 2x 2s lipo's (1 in each tray) the weight is super low compared to other buggies like RC8b/e - Mugen eco - Losi 8ight.

I like it, and I have lots of parts coming for it, in the next few days

    Team Orion lipo's arrived today!

I came across these on ebay for 40.00 a pair used which is a great price I think. They are both in almost mint condition with only tiny minor scratches on the top side due to battery strap rub.

They fit very nicely with a snug width fit and about a 5mm gap end to end
