Many ppl I know swear by the cheapness of the kits but I would say that parts support is something to consider...
its cheap but in the long run u will end up spending more on it to fix it, so go for a little expensive kit which will last longer.
the exceed cars are very poorly made, the plastic is very bad quality and breaks often. there is almost no aftermarket support for these cars and if a part breaks u have to wait for it to come from china, this means that in the long run, like anglesrage said, ul spend more on the parts than the truck, however if you want something cheap that u can just have light fun with, exceed may b a good choice for you.
remeber, you get what you pay for
Exceeds and redcats are cheap which draws alot of people to them. They have gotten alot better on build quality but the issue i have is parts availability and support since almost no one has aftermarket parts for them and you have to order everything off the internet for it..
I reject your reality, and blow it up with C4.

think about it this way- if you break a part, you have to wait 2 weeks to get that same plastic, weak part from nitrorcx, then when it breaks again you dont have an oportunity to upgrade to RPM or any aftermarket aluminum pieces, therefore it is prone to break again
