I'm not expierenced with Durango's but I would probably run a Castle or Teking system of some sort. I would also run it on Lipo.
I'm getting a desc410r in a little bit after the winter. I was wondering what electronics I should run? It has to be ROAR approved. I looked at a lot of options but I never ran any of them before because I always ran nitro and wanted to try something new. I Decided to get into competitive racing and plan on racing in Maine,Florida, and Alabama.

but still use a LiPo
Tekin is freaking awesome. At my LHS they do speedruns and set up a track and someone did 8 speed runs each time at 80mph with Slash 4x4 and the system didn't even get warm. My friend's Momba Monster heats up after 4 speed runs at 80mph. Tekin and Castle are both really great systems.
ya, castle is a good choice, for beginners (starting out in electric rc's). With tekin you need to solder a bunch of things and idk if u are comfortable doing that.
Rustler VXL with $754.10 worth of upgrades (and more to come)
Helion 1/18 animus 18sc with custom LED headlights & taillights and a 4050kv 4pole brushless motor
Kyosho Jet Stream 800 needing esc
hope this helps
no i ment tekin sucks for beginners for older folks into electric it rocks but like rcman said tekin requires alot of soldering
Oh ok. I misunderstood you. Sorry!
