How can you tell if your brushes in brushed motors are dead is there a specific sound or what? please help

you will see a great loss of power. also you should try breaking in that motor with the water break in method and you can replace brushed in a motor fairly simple and brushes are cheap so when you see a great deal of power loss just replace the brushes in the motor im guessing its a titan 12 turn

If you brushes are starting to go bad you will notice less power and also you may start hearing a screeching noise coming from you motor.

If it's a titan 12t from traxxas you won't be able to replace the brushes unfortunately. But it does give you a good reason to go BrushLESS =]

Traxxas 12T titans are pretty cheap to replace. but if you do go brushless, there is almost 0 maintenance.

well the tires turn but nothing else happens so i think motor is shot i havent looked into it yet but when i hit gas nothing happens so ill look more tomorrow

hey can i not breakin the motor and just run it or do i have to break it in first?
