i think you esc might be detecting that there is a big load on it and the fan stays on so that it doesnt get hot... .thats just a guess i dont really know i have had my MMM about a week longer then you
on 6s the fan is always on for me or is on in like 15 seconds
does the fan stay on all the time?
usually the fan will come on as soon as you flip the switch for 10-15 seconds to let you know the fan is still working, like the warning light on the dashboard of a car if one of those lights does not come on that lets you know it is burnt
Mine stays on the whole time...
Hmm It might just depend on what version of the firmware your running. I know that V1 ESC's had the fan running all the time. V2 I believe was the same. V3 ESC's only turn on the fan during startup and then again when it hits 150F.
If you have a V1 or V2 ESC you would have no bullets for the wires or only bullets on the motor wires.
The older v1 and v2 i think do stay on but i believe on the v3, you can program it to either always stay on or only come on at a certain temp.
Nah, there's not an option on the castle software for this sadly. I'm going to purchase a fan for my motor to keep the temps cool, but I don't want the esc fan to stay because it wastes battery.
Good call. The best way to combat heat is preventing it. Any heat is power lost. Now if you use more power to dissipate this heat via a fan, then you're losing that much more.
Always volt up and gear down =]
