Hello all, I have a Stampede with the older XL-5 non waterproof ESC. In the required list it says to use a 7.2v battery but in the ESC specs it states voltage between 4.8v and 9.6v. Will the ESC handle a 8.4v pack ( which actually measures 10v) ?

full throttle or else it must be brokebut breaking it is just another reason to build it bigger and better than before!
Yup no problem there. Fully charged packs always have a higher voltage than rated but this will immediately drop when in use. Perfectly safe. Watch those motor temps!
Volt Up. Gear Down.

Ok then thanks. Now, can I use a 8.4v with a traxxas connector through an adapter to the non traxxas battery plug on the esc?
Yepp, the connector doesn't effect the ESC other then how freely the juice is getting from the battery to the ESC
