I want to take my buggy to a new level - Tekin OR Castle motor?

I have used Tekin and love it as a racer but just the other day I threw a Castle Creations Mamba Max Pro Setup into my car and it hauled Ass. It was the same exact Kv as my Tekin motor but for some reason it went a lot faster and it had a lot more torque. Okay.

Unfortunately, my current replacement motor is a POS. and burnt out today! this is the second one i have had burn out on me.

Absolutely rediculus, especially when I wasn't going full throttle for more then 2 seconds at a time, not running drag brake either.

Tekin it is then, that's if it fits in my buggy :/

if not, ill have to severely gear down and buy the castle 2650

Was the new motor sensorless or sensored? Even if it was sensored the Mamba Max Pro comes setup with Smartsense which only uses the sensor during takeoff then uses sensorless while at speed. The sensorless setup allows for a higher top speed and more torque due to the speed control not having the read the position of the rotor and putting out a certain current for a give throttle input.

What motor did you have burn up? and what speed control do you have?

The kv is somthing to not worry about. Theres epa on your tranmitter that can be turned down. Thats the good thing because if the motor isn't being ran hord neither is esc ans temps stay down. Also this means where ever you go you know you will have the power. I have seen tekin esc's go bad pretty often. Not saying there bad but i have a castle thats been ran all year long without one issue. Catle is good and i prefer it. But thets my prefrence and opinion. I know the smaller castle motors and esc's don't do as good but the monster does do its job.

Just to close this thread on a good note...

I have bought the Tekin 1900 buggy motor. All I can say, is... IT IS INSANE!

Check it out in my buggy build thread for my caster ex1.5.

You simply get what you pay for...
