this is my first post here.
i am just wondering how in the youtube vid of the Stampede 4x4 vxl, you got it all kinds of wet in the puddles and it just carried on like it was nothing..?
but i watched a review on youtube of the E-Revo where the guy said the servos are water proof, but the motors are not and will basically die at the sight of water.?

P.s... is the Rustler VXL as waterproof as that Stampede?
well, anything Traxxas (electronics wise) is waterproof. the reason he said that on the E-Revo is because it (or at least the BL version) uses a Castle Creations ESC that is NOT waterproof and actually very water sensitive I've heard. so anything but the E-Maxx Brushless Edition and E-Revo Brushless Edition are waterproof. just keep in mind that this means the electronics are waterproof, not the chassis (bearings, etc.).
as he said above me just make sure to dry and i usually spray the metal parts w/ wd40 so they dont rust. check the bearings and screws and etc.
All Traxxas electric RCs are waterproof, but of course the 1/8 brushless ones are not. They do use a normal Mamba Monster which is not waterproofed. As for Rustler 'Pede, Pede 4x4, 1/16 ect they're all waterproof stock. Just after prolonged use the screws start to rust. No big deal, 30 on a stainless set fixes that
you can waterproof a mamba, but it voids warranty

yep, but its almost a garuntee that it will fry with a box though. there's no way to cool it that way.
