A buddy at work told me he has a friend that is selling a sledgehammer and a clod buster, both need electronics but they have trannys and motors and extra body. They are only $25 each, but I don't know any thing about them. What's your opinion? Can I put traxxas rx and tx in both of these or do either of them need brand specific electronics like nikko and cheaper brands do.
I know some of you old timmers have to know something about these trucks!
Tamiya old monster trucks. For 25 i wouldnt hesitate but they would be shelf queens for me.

Sorry to say that they are long gone. I didn't get a response quick enouph, and by the time I did get some positive feedback they were gone. I'm into brushless and probably would have put in a cheap leopard combo in them.
I dunno man,Those things are vintage.I'm sure you could do it but you may as well just build a truck from scratch,If you were wanting all that power.I'd just be stoked to have em to run around in the front yard. I remember the days of when my older brothers had those kits. I was too "young" bla bla bla...Even tho my RC's of today completely spank old RC tech,I still think those were some of the best kits ever made.
My first hobby grade rc was an avante from about1988 or so. Then when I got back into it I got an rc10gt, now I have a vxl rustler
My first hobby grade was a Tamiya Manta Ray. I have no idea what happend to it and I sure do miss it.Was probably right around 93-94 or so.
