two of my friends run these in sc10 and a stadium truck both run fine, no heat issues.
and its hard to beat a $99 combo
Well, Ive come to the decision I want to upgrade my cheap EZ-Run brushless
Sadly my EZ-Run motor in my B4 is actually a 380 with a 540 diameter can because of the heat sink built it. They list it as a 540.
So, it still has insane power and speed for a brushless
Im going to upgade. CastleCreations SideWinder V2 with the 5700kv 4pole.
Anyone here good things about these?

Better pick it up sonner than later cause castle is raising the prices of all of their motors because magnet prices in china are way up.
I think for racing you should use something lower kv like the 3800kv motor.
I reject your reality, and blow it up with C4.

The Sv2 and 1406 4 pole motor combo is $129, still not bad
I payed around $70 for mine to the door.
I don't have heating issues with this current system despite the 380 size
Im going to go for the 5700 I think, better for tracks do to the lower torque. No use a high torque motor with a loosened slipper to control it, plus I get good speed runsPlus Im sure with a true 540 motor in there it's going to be twice the torque

If i was racing in 2wd buggy, i would get the mamba mac pro and have a sensored motor for racing and use the castle motor for bashing reason being the sensored motor is gonna have less torque at lower throttle levels, making it more controllable around corners. The castle sensorless motors have 100% torque at all throttle levels and castle motors are the torquiest motors you can buy so you will get tons of wheels spin unless you are racing on a high bite surface like carpet.

get the mamba max pro esc (around $124) and then get a tekin sensored motor (around $80)
The only problem about the sidewinder v2 is on hot days it get really hot. So if you get it watch the temperature.
Im not going to go Pro, I don't think it will fit under my body. My tiny turnigy 35a barely fits but it has a fan. Sv2 is nice and thin, Im sure I find a small fan

If you need a fan for the sidewinder v2 use a 36mm Castle Blower Fan it fits perfectly!
