Im not sure if this is the right place to post this but I recently bought a new esc+motor combo for my rc and it just keeps overheating, like within 5-10 min of medium to slow driving, geared it according to the chart turned all the settings down and performed surgery to the body with holes everywhere, is there any reason why it thermals all the time, could it be the esc to weak,or the motor is drawing to much amps, plzzz any advice will be appreciated
Would probably help if you told us the model of esc and motor.
also would help to know your current gearing.
Oh I'm sorry, well I'm getting a viper 10.5 turn combo soon hopefully because I can't stand this thermaling , but right now its one of those cheap hobbywing 60a esc on a 6000kv motor, I know the motor is a little much but it's the only one they had at the time, the gearing is either 20/76 or 21/76
What truck or car are you using with this ESC? It could be too heavy. Also DON'T keep thermaling it! You will completely destroy it.

That little Hobbywing ESC can't provide the amps to that motor, It probably pulls 70-80 amps regularly at full throttle and when you take off.
