Slash 4x4 vs team associated sc10 4x4 and some questions

Hey im new to these forums and i was wondering what would be the better for a new short course beginner out of those two. And i was also wondering, does a truck have to be 2wd to race at a track? Thanks any feedback is appreciated!

If you have the $$$$ go with ae sc10 4x4....it cost a little more , but I feel like its a better truck to race..The slash is a great truck to , Its a great basher truck, but its a good racer to. Both are great trucks! Try going to a race an see what their running...before you get a 4x4 or 4x2
