    Bit the bullet!

Ok i just bit the bullet and ordered a new venom 2s 5000mah lipo and a electrifly cell balancer for my T4 along with a bunch of other goodies! I have had this stuff in my shopping cart for three months, just couldn't wait any longer. Tired of running my nimh battery.

Got the email yesterday that my order has been shipped, sure will be glad to get my lipo along with new tires and wheels. I will have three sets of tires/wheels, sure makes things much easier.

Well took the T4 out today for the first run with my new venom 2s 5000mah 25c lipo. I was not overly impressed with the speed/torque, but i do realize this was just the 1st cycle run on this battery and that i am running just a stock setup. I did manage to get 20min of run time and that was running pretty hard the majority of the time. The battery and esc remained cool but the motor was pretty hot to the touch after 20min of running hard.

Your not running a very big discharge rate either.....

1st cycle or 10th cycle I never noticed the difference with my set-up until I picked up a better BRUSHLESS system, I would keep an eye on your motor temps tho.... if you can't hold your finger for more than 2-3sec then your to hot. If your constantly running hot then you will shorten the life and performance of your motors.

After the 2nd charge cycle the speed/torque was much better but the motor temps are pretty high. Looks like i'm going to have to play with the gearing, running 18/87 now.

Checked motor temps yesterday in the T4, 150 was the highest, but mainly stayed between 140 and 145. I know it's a little hot but not too bad.

I just got done installing a 20t pinion, went up from a 18t, just trying to get a little more top end speed out of my T4 with the stock brushless setup. Going to take it out tomorrow to give it a try.

Good news, the 20t pinion helped out alot as far as top end speed and i didn't lose anything on acceleration. Now the bad, after running for only about 3 min i think the steering servo crapped out on me.
