You could've drilled two holes next to the break and put a small zip tie (4in) in the holes to hold the part together. JB Weld or Epoxy might have worked. I have aluminum turnbuckles on mine. You should get them sometime. They're awesome!

ya, i will get the aluminum ones when i convert my bandit to a rustler

It's a good idea to. I ran the plastic links for a while. I never broke one though and I was bashing pretty hard. It all depends on the landing/way you hit the jump.
