Animus is lovingly called the crapimus around here. Not worth your money. You'll spend 2x the money over time trying to keep one of these working. I know it's twice as much but a mini 8ight is the best mini. That's. Klingon from a guy with a merv mini slash and mini summit too...

No u are all wrong, the animus is the best $100 beginners rc out there. Literally indestructible, I've had mine for a year now and I've only broke a couple of dog bones body posts but it was my fault cause I was trying to push it by driving at full speed into walls and taking it straight off a half pipe a couple of times... Nothing broke that was the cars fault. The bumpers are the best bumpers I've ever seen on an rtr, the body it twice as thick as the 1/10 scale bodies and it looks really cool to. I would highly recommend buying it and getting some spare dogbones and spare body posts which total is about $10 and its a bag with extra things. It's also really fast for it tiny little size, handles the indoors VERY well, as in driving into walls, 3-4 year olds sitting on it, stepping on it and throwing it. And the fact that it comes with 2.4GHz is excellent so u can run it out of sight. Put some electrical tape on the tires am uve got an awesome drifter.

All of the folks I know that have purchased these for their own use, or for their boys have had terrible luck with the crapimus. Rc boy is blowing smoke up your hoo hoo.

what problems have they had?

Esc, and binding problems, and the constant crapping out of brushed motors. Is it worth it to buy motor after motor?

But I guess if you're going to leve it stock you won't break the plastic dogbanes.
