Theres a little bit of an advanteg using buggy wheels and tires since the tires are symetrical but ive never noticed a difference on my 2wd slash. You might notice a diffrence on a 4wd slash but idk. Only time i would see it as an advantage is if you also have a 1/8 scale buggy you can also run the wheels and tires on cause you cant race buggy tires on a sc.
I think they look pretty good on an SC truck. I will give you the pros and cons of 1/8th buggy tires:
Pros:
-More selection on tread design
-looks good
-Proven designs
Cons:
-May not be legal for racing
-More rotating mass
they are also cheaper for a set
they have the sand paddels for the rail that could fit on any normal 1.8th rim. i dont think the tires will be cheap
think im gonna order the adapters and give it a try
got the AKA adapters today and some panther tires, will let you know the results of tomorrows racing
and will post some pics
They wear the drive train real fast and some adapters really arent good. The AKA ones i will never use again, FLM i wil never use because i paied to much to snap stub axles to many times and the adapers weren't cheap. Also they take away the handling it makes things to easy. Stick with sc tires.
