Hey guys and gals I'm in the market to buying my first 1/5 scale gas RC but I don't want to spend over $800.00, to be honest i love the Losi 5T but my wife will kill me for spending $1600.00, any suggestions please?

For that price, look into the Redcat XB. With coupons less than $500 @ Amainhobbies.com or at davesmotors.com. One thing to remember though, 1/5 scale eats money. Parts costs and upkeep is off the hook. But after my Losi 5ive, I have a hard time wanting to run anything else.

+1 xxxt, have you looked into or gave a thought about used? I bought my 5b used for $650 and I came with a zenoah and I coulbnt be happier with the price. Plus if you buy second hand you may have a few extra bucks for upgrades your gonna want

Also you might want to make sure if you ask yourself a few questions like:

Do i have the storage room for a 1/5th scale?
Will I be able to afford parts for the car if it breaks?
How will my neighbors react to the sound of a 1/5th scale?

All of these is the reason I chose a 1/8 e buggy over a 1/5th scale.
