losi strike esc question

I just got a losi strike lastnight,and my question is,is there a setup you have to go through to toggle between lipo mode and nimh mode?I'm assuming there is but not sure.Also i plan on running lipo but whats a good battery to run with the stock electronics?I have lipo experiance just looking for advice on what to get,I was looking at 2s lipos at 7.4volts.

NOTE: While in the programming mode, no power is applied to
the motor.
Battery Selection: When the ESC is powered on, the LED will be
flashing for 2 seconds to indicate the Selected Battery Type.
During this time the user can press the key to toggle between
LiPo and NiMH/NiCd modes. After the key has been pressed
(battery type selected), the LED will flash for 2 more seconds.
A. Turn on ESC and push button once within 2 seconds, push
again to toggle between modes.
B. Red light indicates LiPo mode (with 6-volt cutoff)
C. Green light indicates NiMH/NiCd mode

I found the answer to my esc question but i'm still needing advice on a battery.

I just got the newer SCT from Losi and got a 2s 35C 5000mah Lipo, seems to match up to the truck well. You could probably go with a higher "C" rating, but with the stock ESC you cannot go more than 2s (7.2V)

yeah i would go with no less than 35c. check out hobbypartz.com for gen ace they seem to have some good reviews, i'm waiting for the 5000mah 50c

ok new issue when i turn the esc on the green light blinks twice then goes out,then the red and green light both come on and they want to stay on no matter what i do.It doesn't seem to want to program,which sucks because i had planned to race it this weekend.So i don't know hopefully somebody can help.

sounds like it needs end point adjustments set (calibrating esc to transmitter)
also may need rebind? does steering work?

Yep the steering works fine i just got the manual from the guy that i got it from.I'm going to take it to my lhs tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure batman has it right. If you just do the end point adjustment (which just tells the ESC the range of movement on your transmitter) it will go back to normal.
I had to do it on the XXX-SCT even though it was new straight out of the box.

the esc doesn't respond like the manual says it should,when i try to set the end points.It says to hold the button and turn on the esc until the red/green light comes on then release it.pull the trigger to full throttle until the green light goes from flashing to solid.but the problem is the green/redlight never flashes itjust stays solid.the battery i'm using is fully charged and the wire that goes to the receiver is correct.
