spur gear

do any of you know if i can get a metal spur gear for my TAMIYA TNX 3.0 as the standard ones are nylon/plastic and they keep stripping ! ....thanks.

Just go on ebay and search "TNX Spur gear"
If they exist they will be on ebay.

i had the same problem. did you put bigger tires?

no, its still standard except for hpi firestorm dish wheels (same size).

p.s. cant find em on flea bay either.

Make sure the gears are meshed correctly. I have stripped 4 in the past 2 weeks lol. Pinion is also a factor, make sure it's very tight!! One slip and it will take off your gears.

+1 gear mesh is usually the main factor in stripage, the thing about metal spurs is when they strip due to a bad mesh they strip your pinions too :( plastics are cheaper and metal to metal is louder imo

Also metal to metal can tear other things inside of the transmission up. Plastic gears stripping saves the rest of the system from crashing.
