cant dye my wheels

hi, i need some advice please, i live in the uk and cant get RIT dye, so i tryed DYLON black for my white plastic wheels, but after 1 hour and 30 mins all i got was a dirty karki colour. is it the that im doing something wrong or is it the DYLON dye or is it that some plastic wheels you cant dye ?.....im doing everything that the vid said.....the wheels are the same as a exceed sunfire's. can anyone help please?

did you clean the rims?
keep the water hot, and soak as long as possible for darker color up to 2-3 days for darkest
some plastics wont accept the dye as well as others
usually dyable parts are white
but i was able to dye my grey traxxas parts
what rims are they exactly?

yes i cleaned the rims prop, kept the water hot and they were in the dye for 1 and a half hours,all it did was make my rims look dirty...the wheels are of a sunfire,thats all i know,cant post a picture a this time but theres one on my profile....not sure if its the dye or the plastic ? any advice is most welcome....thanks

sometimes its easier to just spray it with back spraypaint

i'm gonna guess that since the rims are $3 for 2 that they are not dyable nylon plastic

ok, thanks for reply,.....$3 for 2!!!!!!!!!!WOW, my local rc shop is charging £12.50 for 2. thats why i try to buy online, i dont trust my local rc shop....hence why i joined this forum, for good honest advice....cheers!!
