Anyone have one of these? How exactly does the head sensor work? Is it better than using a heat gun? I mean more accurate? I am leaning towards dropping the $300 to upgrade but I am not sure DSM2 makes a huge difference either. thoughts?

Well I am a HUUGE fan of the DSM2 technology, if you are going to top the coin on an expensive radio you may as well get the latest tech. That said there are a lot of other popular receivers. I happen to run a spektrum but I know there are other people who like other stuff.

the temp is very accurate. my brother has it and we check it with a temp gun and its the same

DONT GO BY IT OR USE THE TELEMNTRY TEMP OR SPEED ETC. It's not accurate and is a waste of time. They added it as a selling point that flopped. Its not worth it use a temp gun and go by how fast you think it is.

telemetry is not that accurate, but it gets u a ballpark idea
speedometer is worthless.
you might check out the DX3C for $129
no telemetry, but has mixing and firmware upgrade-able
but if you really want to try the telemetry check ebay the dx3s are going for about $100
