So Many Choices!
Hi guys and gals, I'm new to this forum and come with some questions. I have two monster trucks for some straight off bashing and I want to get into some on-road racing. I've heard soo many different possibilities and I'm just completely lost with which one. This is my criteria; under $150 (possibly $200 if it's worth it), for racing at my indoor track, riding on the streets, 1/10 scale, upgradeable, RTR. I know I'm asking for a lot but if you could please help that would be great. Thanks

There arent many quality rc's for under $150. The duratrax evader and anything from the electrixrc brand are $120. AM radio and slow motors, but they still do what you need. I think parts aren't in most shops though so ebay may come in handy if you break a part.

I was thinking something more along the lines of a Drift King or Drift Star. One that is strictly for flat surfaces or the street

I am usually not one for bashing brands and having never owned an Exceed I can only speak from others experience. The Exceed brand is mainly an entry level kit with almost NO aftermarket support and cheaply made parts. The aluminum isn't hardened and bends VERY easy, the plastic is a poor quality also and will break easier than w/ a "better" kit.
With that said, I can't say don't buy one, not my place to tell you what to buy. I would recommend not getting one and saving up some money and buying a proper on-road kit, Kyosho, OFNA, HPI, etc.
the Kyosho EP Fazer Aston Martin DBR9 is around $160 and is almost ready, needs batteries

Which would you recommend for a price range from 200-250?

Oh sorry I was thinking of a short course truck. Im not experienced with on road stuff. I havent had one since a kid.
The traxxas gymkhana is $300 ish. Expensive for a 1/16 though.

the hpi sprint 2 is around 300$ i think RTR all you need is bats it has a 5700kv castle system in it i think 2.4ghz belt driven pretty good beginner racer kit... ive been eye balling one in my shop for the past month now

check ebay should be able to get a used rtr touring car for under 200

I can't really buy from ebay as I'm not experianced enough with rc's to recognize what choice is best for the price. I know I'm asking for a lot but thank you for your help. Any other possibilities? I am willing to bump the price up to $300. Are there many classes for 1/10 scale touring races? or is it mainly smaller scales?
