I'm not a big electric guy, if your clutch is bad/worn then you will have excessive heat at the clutch from slipping... shooting in the dark here, is your motor,ESC and battery good??
Now I have moved the pinion little time out and it looks like that was what was the problem. Much more smooth sound now:)

If I understand what you are refering to the term you are looking for is called "Mesh" and a good way to set your a mesh is to take the plastic bag you get when you buy an r/c car part or like a pinion and stick it between the spur and pinion. Then move the motor all the way up untill the bag is a liitle loose but kind of tight and then tighten the motor mounting screw and you are good to go. Rememer: Make sure you change the "Mesh" every time you change a pinion or spur size!!!
