stock shock blowing apart

Im thinking about modding my slash to fit losi 8ight b 2.0 shocks since i have a new set coming in for my buggy soon. Ill prob post a build thread of it if i decide to do it. right now im running the ones that come with it with the ti-nitride shock shafts and losi springs. havent had any problems blowing shock caps though. maybe im just lucky

I think the traxxas stock shocks are not made for much abuse, all plastic. What were they thinking?

They're actually decently designed but need reinforcement in the shock caps if they want to have they plastic.

I bet if they gave the cap 3-4 more threads that the plastic would be strong enouph!

I put big bore xxL on the rear, then I robbed the rear shocks off of my old rc10gt to put on the front of my rusty. its working great.
