I Personaly would go with the Traxxas Summit because it is waterproof fast and really good for rock crawling. I have actually been looking at all of the monster trucks made from Traxxas and I personaly recomend the Summit you should really look up some videos

I've not heard much about the savage except that they are way heavy!!!!!!

About the same weight as your E-Maxx, just a tad heavier because of the Twin vertical plates. My friend has an E-Maxx and custom put a brushless into it. It was heavy then.... but then he added a RC solutions Roll Cage, it's like 20lbs now.

I recently bought a Stampede 4x4 VXL and it is great for bashing, completely stock, right out of the box. Easy clean up with a garden hose, hair dryer and some WD 40 or any other RC Electric friendly Lubricants.
