just look at videos on youtube everybody gets them and throws them in the pool and takes them out and they work fine.
Nobodys really had issues, but the most common issue is the receiver box letting in some water, so I stick it in a balloon so it won't fry. Check out Jetlag2222 on youtube for some proof videos.
mostly new ones with the blue xl5 and vxls made after 2009. they are very water tight but u should deff clean it after running in water and make sure u have some WD-40, motor bushing oil, and bearing oil to ensure that ur motor and bearings last.
I've took my E Revo in water many times. No problems!! They are totally waterproof.
can other vehicles be "waterproofed" or is that asking for trouble/voiding warranty?
There are youtube videos that show you how to waterproof it but it would be against the warranty.
My Traxxas Summit just rocks. Snow, water, dirt, mud. It doesn't care. You can't go wrong.
