Maybe, but to be safe I would take the rear differental apparat and redo it and look at the drive shafts.
I have a mini summit i am fixing for a guy and when you accelerate hard you hear a ticking noise like a rock is stuck... i know the noise is coming from the rear end. Could it mean the differential is shot??

It's the diff. You need to shim them. Go on YouTube and search: SwedishRC How to shim any differential.
ok... well I replaced the diffmalready i have the car appart for a shock rebuild and have not yet driven it. Since i replaced the diff, Do i need to shim the differential??
